The food was good but the service was really bad. I ordered a jalapeño margarita and it was mostly agave syrup and ice. I couldn’t even drink it. The waiter was rude and not welcoming. He disappeared for about 15 minutes after giving us our food. We were never asked how the food or my drink was. We had to ask for water refills and extra chips and salsa. He seemed annoyed that we used a Groupon and didn’t even say “thank you” at the end of the meal. I would not recommend!
As far as Mexican restaurants go, this place fits the stereotypical mold. It's location gives it a good convenience for travellers, considering its right off of the I5 corridor. Now let's get something straight here: I LOVE Mexican food. I mean, I'd give it babies if it were possible (maybe one day...). And that's what made my multiple trips to Hacienda Amigo Mio a little disappointing. The food was decent, but not great. The portions were big, but lacked flavor. The staff was friendly, but disengaged. The plate prices lean a little on the expensive side for what you get. Also, I found the dishes to be somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes the food was a little too dry. Other times drenched in a little too much oil. Most of the time it was just 'okay'. And that last part really sums up the restaurant in my opinion. It's okay. Moderate. a decent place to eat, but nothing magical.
the portion sizes (for the fajitas in particular) were somewhat small. the service was attentive but very distant & not engaging at all. the quality of the food was definitely decent & tasty but not the best. all in all a pretty good place.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent place that serves Mexican food in this town LOL I've only been here once so don't judge me on that yet, but so far everything was really good that I ordered. The waiters were awesome as well. They were so excited about their food that it made me more peppy by the time I left.
Moved here from Arizona and was missing good Mexican food. So glad I found this place. The food is delicious, you can tell they slow cook their meats the authentic way. The waiter was even cracking jokes with my mother about her order. Great experience, good times. We will absolutely return!
