Over all its a good school and good teachers, but a lot of things keep me from giving it a better rating. The lunches may be free but they are minimal and unhealthy. They ask for supplies the kids dont use but we dont get them back. Supplies lost by teachers are your responsibility to replace no matter how many times they loose things. They dont offer transportation, not even for kindergarten. They have created an unsafe pick up environment. Since there is no transportation most of the kids are getting picked up, they have a very small one way parking lot so traffic is backed up on 4 roads, people parking where they shouldnt blocking traffic. To make matters worse a lot of times they have a crossing guard. This is a group of students that stand at the 4 way intersection to the school that have not been taught how to direct traffic safely. They back up the traffic even more because they just walk out in front of cars without looking and each set of kids stop traffic at random without organization. Whats even more upsetting is that the teacher that is supposed to be supervising them does nothing. I have seen these kids almost get hit by moving cars several times and she never even bats an eye.
Maple elementary school is amazing my favorite teachers at the school are..............All of them.............. but there's one teacher Mrs.Silver she got a grant of 5000 dollars for the school.
Just transferred my kids over to this school this year. So far, its been great. Registration was easy. Meeting their teachers was cool. And the school set up is amazing. However, traffic is a bummer. No crossing guards?? No flow of 'pick-up' when school is out??! And unhealthy lunches? Hmm... ill make another review at the end of the school year.
I love this place because I came to this school for 3 years. Then my grandma got sick so we came to salinas California. I miss my old friends and teachers. My name is Carlos and I say this is one of the best schools in the world.
I've been at Maple for my elementary school experience, and it was so much fun. The teachers really care about you and your needs and you are put first. There is always activities to do at assemblies, and during school, too. Maple makes school fun. I love it!
