Visiting from California, had an unexpected illness and ended up at Riverbend Emergency. I really have to commend ALL the staff from intake to discharge. They were wonderful and made me feel like I wasn't 1,000 miles from home.

I want to say thankyou for the misdiagnosis, which additionally they didnt correct as they couldnt admit they were wronge. To make it worse they sent the wronge diagnosis off to the specialist that they reffered me to who had a completely wronge idea, I thought she had the wronge patient! And almost scheduled me a permanently disfiguring surgery that would have been completely unnecessary! The best part is I TOLD THEM SO while still conscious i thought id pass out from pain, i knew i didnt have what they were claiming i had wronge with me, they assumed a lot and the basis of their questions was kind of insulting, it seemed they were putting blame on the patient for their illness which just wasnt the case in fact i work in a healthcare setting which they DIDNT ask about. this later disolved into gossip and suspected abuse at home, i live alone LOL. I was told this was the "good" ER it was the 1st time since moving to this town that i missed my out of state big city hospitals with professional COMPETENT ER staff who work with all ages, have seen it all and know what to do without wasting time, money and most importantly correcting potentially devastating mistakes that would make a patient suffer.
Smart ER doctors and appropriate staffing levels = good outcomes!
